About Me
God is in control and homeschooling was always the path - I just didn't listen to His gentle nudge. He began to show me the road to homeschooling when my oldest was just 2 years old by placing people in my life who homeschooled. As I watched them, my thought was "I could never do that." But I could and did! With God's help, our homeschool journey began a few years after both boys has started school.

We love to laugh and joke, and homeschooling is the reason. It has built confidence and strengthened our relationships with our children.
My name is Amy Booker. My husband, Scott, and I have two sons who attended tradtional school for several years. We made the decision to homeschool them because they were not being challenged. Often my younger son was finished with his work and had to spend much of the day in the reading center. My older son was so bored in math that he was actually failing math because he wouldn't complete the work.
When we made the decision to homeschool, I researched every curriculum I could find and kept coming back to BJU Press. My main reason for choosing BJU Press was the biblical integration that is found in every subject and the colorful worktexts. We knew we made right decision because of the excitement and comments our boys made about something they had learned.
Homeschooling continued to be a journey through their high school years. Our boys are very different in their learning styles. The youngest is an overachiever and eager to get to his work done, while the oldest is a daydreamer who was a challenge for me to motivate. BJU press was able to give them both exactly what they needed to develop a love of learning as they have gotten older. Because we used the video courses with BJU Press, our afternoons were free to pursue other things after we finished school. Our oldest found his passion in Fine Arts and has now graduted with Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Gaming and Animation. Our younger son learned computer programming and guitar. After completing his sophomore year of college, he was accepted into the dual Bachelor's/Master's program and is set to begin on his third year in the graduate program, where he will specialize in Data Science (Artificial Intelligence). Both boys have consistently made the honor roll in college and continue to challenge themselves learning new advances in their fields.
