My name is Beth. Our family lives in North Idaho surrounded by beauty, nestled in the forest, and near the shimmering lakes. We have three amazing children and an adorable Bernedoodle dog named Reuben. We homeschool two of our three kids while we chase around our little third. Both my husband and I were homeschooled growing up and have continued to use BJUpress to educate our own children. This gives us the ability to be more flexible with every day activities while giving our children an amazing education.

When my husband and I made the decision to homeschool, I was overwhelmed. There are SO many curriculums out there, fears and unknowns of the 'how', etc. It's a huge decision! It is a good one, but it still can be overwhelming. It was for me. I am not the most *organized* and detailed mom out there. No, I am afraid my planner is collecting dust inside my night stand as we speak. It gives me anxiety to see those little daily boxes fill up. I just cannot bring myself to even look at it. Instead I wing it every day... it makes my life easier. (I know). We may or may not have legos, random puzzle pieces, a sock, pencil shavings, and crumbled paper in our craft drawer with yarn and other string hanging out of it. You will find me with a baby on the hip, diaper bag around the shoulder, six year old in hand, nine year old next to me, and juggling my coffee with the same hand as the baby on hip. I'll have to make the decision to let go of the coffee or the six year old's hand to dig for my misplaced car keys that always seem to have made their way to the very bottom of the diaper bag. My hair will be in a side pony tail or messy bun. My makeup bag stays in the car 24/7. That is where my makeup is applied...  Usually in the parking lot of where I am needing to go.
All this to say... how in the WORLD can an unorganized, hot mess like myself homeschool her kids? Let me just say, I couldn't without BJU Press and their Distance Learning curriculum. It helps me stay organized and focused. The curriculum is laid out for me daily. I am able to know exactly the assignments my kids will need for the day and what they will be learning. This has been life changing for us. We have watched our six year old finish first grade with flying colors. She is not only reading chapter books, but reading very well and writing beautifully. Our nine year old has the flexibility to do her theatre and sports while keeping her schoolwork a priority. I am able to be a wife (and caregiver to my amazing Marine hubby), chase my two year old son around, keep up with what life throws at us, get our kids to all their weekly/daily activities, be involved in our church, and homeschool our kids with the freedom and the ability to do so.
Being homeschooled myself in early elementary as well as all through my highschool years, I have the personal experience of homeschooling. I knew from then that I would want to homeschool my own kids someday. Here we are, enjoying life to the max, using a wonderful curriculum to guide us in our learning, and getting the most of what our schooling has to offer.
I, myself am learning how to be organized. I am learning to be more disciplined and being more punctual. This is a daily process. We are ALL always learning, always growing, and always ready for the next thing to learn.
I am here for you! I can always offer 10% off as well as free shipping on BJU Press homeschool materials. Contact me for other special offers! If you have any questions or need any help when it comes to this homeschooling adventure, please don't hesitate to ask me. I am a homeschooling mama, just like you! Let's take this on together.
