About Me

I have been homeschooling for 7 years now. I wanted to be an elementary teacher, but withing the first year of college I got engaged. I quit school because I knew whe I had children I would be a stay at home mom. Homeschooling was always on my heart. My oldest is a shy person so I thought public school would help him come out of his shell and learn how to make new friends. While it did help some, the bad out-weighed the good. I helped in my daughters class once a week, (I had a newborn at the time), and didn’t like what I saw. That calling to pull them out and homeschool was getting stronger. That school year I did so much research on curriculum, ways of teaching, learning style, you name it. I was literally dreaming of homeschool every night. We tried public school at home for 2 years and it just didn’t work for us. Tons of work with hardly any teaching. I was still doing most of the work. Trying to find the routine that worked for us was hard, but we finally found it! We decided to stop doing online public school and make the plunge to do it on our own. I chose BJU Press Homeschool not just because of the quality of the curriculum but because it is a Christ centered. Whether I’m teaching or they watch the videos, I know they will learn to look at the world through a biblical worldview. I have always told my children, whatever you do in life make sure Christ is in the center, this includes education. My children are happy and love homeschool life. I enjoy being a HomeWorks Consultant and sharing my journey with parents, and being able to help them as they get started or continue to encourage them along the way.
