I was born a Navy brat.  At the age of 6, we moved to NH where my parents were born and raised.  I attended and graduated from Sanborn Regional High School  and then attended and graduated from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC with a BS degree in Special Education for the Hearing Impaired.  I became a believer during my freshman year and have tried to walk in His steps ever since.  I taught in both public and private schools for 14 years, teaching special education and regular education from kindergarten through the 6th grade.

My husband , Daniel, and I have been married for 24 years and have four amazing children. Three of our children are adopted, two from Russia and one from TX.  When it came time to start school, we decided that we would teach our eldest at home for kindergarten.  I had seen how some children couldn’t even read and we wanted to make sure that our son would not be one of those statistics. My husband began to see how beneficial home schooling was, so he decided that we should do school at home.  We have never regretted that choice. Nathanael is now attending college, Aleksandra is in the 12thgrade, Danny is in the 11th, and Luci is in the 7th.

We started home schooling with many  different curriculums, but each day was a fight and struggle.  I was familiar with the BJU Press Homeschool Math curriculum, so I decided to try that one subject with him.  He loved it.  I began to change all of our curriculum to BJU Press Homeschool.  When he was in the 4thgrade, we discovered the HomeSat program (now Distance Learning). The children loved all the different teachers, sharing the same teachers, and sharing their lessons with each other.  Now we use the Distance Learning Online, but we did use the DVDs when they were younger.  Two of our children were ESL for the first couple of years of their learning experience and they adapted and then excelled using BJU.  We believe that the BJU Press Homeschool curriculum offers our children the best education available and provides us with the tools we need to give our children a quality education.  Our test scores prove that they are excelling far beyond what we could have hoped for them.  We, as loving parents, can provide the best education for our children.  We just need the right tools and the determination to accomplish this awesome task.
