About Me
I am currently homeschooling my four daughters: a 10th grader, a 7th grader, and twin 5th graders. There have been many ups and downs over the last ten years of homeschooling, but God has used this journey to teach ME so much about what it means to follow Him. I truly couldn't do a day of this without Him guiding me.
We began homeschooling with an eclectic approach. However, we hit a wall when my eldest was in 3rd grade. There were gaps showing up with her and I was burnt out from constantly researching what my child "needs to know" and printing out worksheet upon worksheet. Piecing together my own materials had seemed like the best way to go, but it was failing our family.
We found BJU Press and decided to try one subject. We added a second subject in the middle of the year and then jumped all in the following year. It provided everything I wanted on my wishlist and in an organized and approachable way. Each subject can be completely independent of each other, but the cohesiveness across the subjects has made it remarkably easy for us to use.
Sharing my homeschool experience is one of my favorite things to talk about with other people. It has always been mutually beneficial to have a community of other like-minded homeschoolers to share in the ups and downs. Becoming a HomeWorks by Precept consultant offered many opportunities to come alongside others in this wild expedition called homeschooling - and I'd love to be a part of your community as well!
