California is a very easy state to homeschool in with few requirements. There is also an abundance of community and field trip opportunities for homeschool families. Both of these are contributing factors to the popularity of home education in the state of California.

As North Carolina residents, we are privileged to live in a state with beautiful mountains, an amazing coastline, large cities, small towns, access to great medical care, an abundance of churches, and plenty of entertainment options—all within just hours or even minutes from most any area of the state. We also have many reputable colleges and universities peppered throughout the state.

Homeschooling in Louisiana has grown significantly in the past decade. There are numerous reasons that parents make the decision to homeschool their children. Regardless of the reason, Louisiana residents have the legal right to choose how their children will be educated with very few legalities involved.

If you are a planner like me, then the answer is going to be a definite YES! When I first started homeschooling, I decided to try to plan out our entire day. So, I had a schedule from the time my oldest son woke up to the time he went to bed. I have to admit, but it was a bit much! I have scaled back since then, but I still see the benefits of having a homeschool routine. Here are a few things to consider when setting up a routine.

Megan Hutson is a homeschool graduate from Houston, Texas! She grew up using BJU Press Homeschool materials from the time she was in kindergarten until she graduated high school. During her junior and senior years of high school, Megan also took several dual credit classes at San Jacinto College. The transition from BJU Press Homeschool to college-level classes went smoothly.

Fun Mom. My friend introduced me to that thought a few years ago. She was having a crazy, stressful time and said that she just needs a day to be Fun Mom - a day to take a break and have fun with the kids - to do something out of the ordinary. I liked that thought. How many times do we get caught up in the craziness of life?

Jessie Johns has lived in the sunny state of Florida since she was two years old. She graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and worked in the childcare industry for ten years. In 1996, she married her wonderful husband, Billy, and they have been married for 23 years. Together they have served in the children's ministry at their church for 22 years. They have also been blessed to have four children: three boys ages 19, 13, and 11, and one 16-year-old daughter.

Cassandra lives in Southeastern Ohio, in New Concord, just an hour east of Columbus. She graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College with a bachelor's degree in nursing. While in college, she met her husband, Michael. She has been married for 25 years, serving alongside him for 18 years as he pastors Lighthouse Baptist Church. They have been blessed with 11 children, ages 4-24. As a pastor's wife, a homemaker, and a 12-year home educator, she is passionate about encouraging other women in their walk with Jesus by sharing, counseling, and speaking to women about her favorite topic—Jesus.

My name is Anna Witt. My family and I live outside of Palmer, in the beautiful Matanuska-Susitna Valley in Southcentral Alaska. We enjoy the rugged landscape of the Talkeetna Mountains, the midnight sun, and the northern lights. I met my husband, Casey, while he was on a fishing trip to Alaska, and we look forward to celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2020. We have four beautiful children, nine-year-old twin girls and two boys, ages 4 and 1.
