About MeI've been homeschooling since my oldest started school. My children have a variety of talents, abilities, and learning styles, yet BJU Press Homeschool is a good fit for everyone. The quality of my children's education improved greatly when I started using BJU Press distance learning.
The family. . . My oldest son, Isaac, attended University of Kentucky. We homeschooled him from the beginning and were delighted that he was able to attend there with many scholarships. He has finished a master's degree in Materials Science Engineering and is working at Hitachi.
Hannah graduated from the Physical Therapy Assistant Program in Somerset, KY. She is working in Lexington and looking forward to a short mission trip to Nicaragura this summer. Samuel studied pre-engineering and 3D Printing in Somerset. He got a full tuition transfer scholarship and is studying Mechanical Engineering at University of Kentucky. He'll be going with members from his Lexington church on a short mission trip to Mexico this spring.
Melody Faith has graduated homeschool and is attending Campbellsville University. She is studying Educational Ministry and Computer Science. Homeschooling prepared them for college! I just have one child left at home. Justin (15) is on a mountain-biking team and we travel to races during the fall. He also plays a box drum for our church and is learning guitar.
Two of our children have moderate hearing loss. While that definitely presents some academic challenges, the environment we have been able to give them through homeschooling has been ideal. They receive all the extra help they need and are confident and doing well.
My husband is a fourth grade science teacher, has a background in special education, and completed a second Master’s degree as a Reading Specialist. We get a lot of questions from homeschoolers about their struggling learners and we are happy to help when we can.
