My name is Anna Witt. My family and I live outside of Palmer, in the beautiful Matanuska-Susitna Valley in Southcentral Alaska. We enjoy the rugged landscape of the Talkeetna Mountains, the midnight sun, and the northern lights. I met my husband, Casey, while he was on a fishing trip to Alaska, and we look forward to celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2020. We have four beautiful children, nine-year-old twin girls and two boys, ages 4 and 1.

I have a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Portland State University. I became a HomeWorks by Precept Consultant in 2016. Aside from homeschooling endeavors, I enjoy my time as a piano accompanist for Cantora Arctica Women's Choir and as a pianist at our church. My other hobbies include reading, crocheting, and sewing.

While looking for a curriculum for our then preschool-age daughters, I was invited to a HomeWorks by Precept Curriculum Display and fell in love with the well-arranged lesson plans, the engaging student worktexts, and the solid biblical worldview found throughout BJU Press Homeschool curriculum.

I had tried to put together an eclectic curriculum to start with and found myself overwhelmed. The open-and-go simplicity of the BJU Press Homeschool grade kits made all the difference in our homeschooling success. As we added our next little one, I again needed to find a new approach to our homeschooling, and we decided to try BJU Press Homeschool’s video lessons and found them to be a great fit for our girls. They gained some much-needed independence during their school time, and I was able to keep up with the baby (and occasionally the laundry).

The simplicity of the video lesson platform has also been a blessing, as I have been able to have my husband and my parents easily step in when needed. As our third child is now preschool age, I am enjoying getting back into parent-led teaching. He has a speech delay, and the curriculum has been a great fit to engage him and work one-on-one. He also loves the older girls' video classes and will run over to watch when he hears the theme music that starts specific segments. I love that all the children can enjoy school time together, even with eight years between the oldest and youngest.

I have enjoyed being a HomeWorks by Precept Consultant and truly love helping other families with their homeschool experiences. It has allowed me to connect with families all over Alaska, and each year I also look forward to our local homeschool conventions and events. Being a consultant has been so much more than just being available to place orders. I love the personal connection and friendships that have developed over the years.
