About MeWhen I started my homeschool journey with my oldest daughter in 2012, I looked to friends that were homeschooling their kids and basically copied everything they did. I assumed that it was the right way to do homeschool. After a few years of ups and downs, trials and tribulations I learned that there really is no one size fits all, but I needed something that was going to work not only for my child(ren), but for me too. Something had to change.
When a friend told me that she found BJU Press Homeschool in the wee hours of the night, I looked into it and was excited for her to try something new. After that year, I saw her homeschool transform and her children were thriving! For the first time they were excited to share the things they were learning.
After that year, my husband and I made the decision to start using BJU Press Homeschool Video Courses. We have faith that it was what the Lord wanted us to do.
The video courses option has allowed me, as a mom to spend more time supervising my youngest boy (who now also does his own video courses), take care of our home and animals, facilitate our daughters' school work, plus manage all of the other responsibilities that a wife and mother deals with daily. I no longer worry about if I am doing enough academically with my children, as I know that they are receiving a quality education. The added bonus is that my childrens and many of their friends now all share the same teachers online!
We have the flexibility to attend our weekly homeschool co-op group for extra-curricular interests, fellowship with others, plan field trips and take days off as needed while not worring about missing anything. My kids love and adore their teachers and are even thrilled to be pen-pals with a few.
