What Makes Someone a Great Consultant?

HomeWorks consultants come from many different backgrounds in all shapes and sizes, but they all have these things in common:
  • Homeschool experience
  • Communication skills
  • Experience using BJU Press products
  • A love for homeschooling and a desire to encourage and help others as they educate their children

Lynnae Hadaway and her husband, Donovan, began homeschooling in 2004 using the BJU Press HomeSat program, but they have also tried out some other curricula along the way. Homeschooling mother and HomeWorks consultant Sonia Nelson was born in California. As a military wife, she has moved to numerous states, with the most recent move landing Sonia and her family in Colorado. Sonia's husband, Chris, was stationed at the Air Force Academy, teaching advanced level math courses to cadets. Because the family's move to Colorado happened near the beginning of their children's school year, Sonia and Chris decided to homeschool...

Originally from Arkansas, Mary Yates and her husband, Doug, moved to Texas. They currently reside in the beautiful and business-savvy city of Plano. Consultants who wish to grow their customer base may participate in product and program training, attend homeschool conventions & solutions events, conduct home events, and participate in social media & web-based communication tools.

Consultants earn a standard commission on all individual sales (including personal purchases), an hourly wage for working homeschool conventions, and also receive a discount on some educational materials purchased for family use.

As consultants gain experience and grow their business, there is opportunity for advancement to Premiere Level Consultant. Premiere Level Consultants must meet certain minimum requirements, but also enjoy higher discounts on educational materials. If and when positions become available, there is opportunity for advancement to Senior Consultant. Senior Consultants lead a regional team of HomeWorks consultants.
